July 4, 2022 Portrait of my mother, her home health aide Stayce, and Mimi her shitzu. It’s hard to believe that today marks one year since mom passed away. I did this portrait when she came home from the hospital last spring. Her dog Mimi was so excited to see her. Stayce and I still get together for lunch and I think Mom would be happy about that. I feel like Marcy is always at the table with us. She died on July 4th. Tonight, one year later I’ll be looking for her in the sky. Mom was a firecracker!
